A while back, I had to apply a weird kernel patch which produced output
like:

pciide0: Changing IO from 0x100e0 to 0x8000
pciide0: Changing IO from 0x100d0 to 0x8010
pciide0: Changing IO from 0x100c0 to 0x8020
pciide0: Changing IO from 0x100b0 to 0x8030
pciide0: Changing IO from 0x10080 to 0x8040

for my PC164 alpha to handle a Promise Ultra33 card.  Is this still likely
to matter?
