Saw an 8-port 100BaseT _switch_ (Netgear, dual-mode, unmanaged) in Fry's
in December for $200.  Okay, it isn't exactly a lunch at McDonalds, 
but that's still pretty cheap in my book.  That's not to say FDDI in
your house doesn't have an inherent coolness factor :-)
