On the advice of a friend, I checked my SRM variables and noticed that
control-scsi-term was set to internal.

What exactly does this variable do? I used to have an external cd drive
hooked up and I never changed any variables and it worked fine. Could this
be the cause of the "blown terminators" with the CD-RW?

Also, I believe my system is set for auto termination since it boots with
nothing plugged in too :)
