On a MiataGL FreeBSD says:
isa0: <ISA bus> on isab0
ata-pci0: <Cypress 82C693 ATA controller (generic mode)> port
0x91a0-0x91af,0x3f
4-0x3f7,0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 238 at device 7.1 on pci0
ata-pci0: Busmastering DMA supported
ata-pci1: <Cypress 82C693 ATA controller (generic mode)> port
0x374-0x377,0x170-
0x177 irq 239 at device 7.2 on pci0
ata-pci1: Busmastering DMA not supported

On a MiataMX5 it said:
Sep 16 22:40:58 miata /kernel: chip0: <CMD 646 IDE controller> irq 1 at
device 4
.0 on pci0

As I don't have IDE disks (SCSI only) I cannot try for you what gives..
