Jo,

We have two machines running 1.4.1 with the exact architecture you describe
(except that ours have no video cards).  The only difficulty I had was that
the IDE reported a device ID that 1.4.1 did not understand -- but there is a
patch in -current that corrects the problem.

I have installed all our NetBSD/Alpha machines (five or six now) by
netbooting, but I don't think that should make any difference.
