First thing i'd do, actually, is make the NetBSD/alpha disklabel code
understan PC-ish MBRs, on the off chance that linux on the alpha uses
an MBR-ish partitioning scheme.

(I know ~nothing about how linux on alpha does parititioning, but i'd
call this a good bet, and it has other positive side effects.  8-)
