I'm trying to install netbsd on looking the same as yours machine --
alphapc 164sx , 533mhz, 128m of ram. unfortunately, I can not find the way
to upgrade ;-) my alphabios to support SRM. the fwupdate.exe I got
from ftp.digital.com....blablalba/firmware/v5.2/alphapc164sx/ just hangs
after I put it on the dos diskette. The last thing I can see -- it's reading
the image from disk and than hangs. 
May be you can hel me with the right (may be older is better?) fwupdate.exe
and the rom image?
I'm not alpha-guru yet :-)
