Okay, its a pci 21140A based card that doesn't work.
it's sitting in an axppci33 with a 21040 based card that
DOES work.

if I if ifconfig de0 (the 21140A card) then subsequent ifconfigs
of the de1 (the working 21040 card) have no effect and the system
becomes unreliable...

However if de0 is not touched and de1 is ifconfig'd all appears fine...

When de0 is set up and you ping from host to host you can see lights
flash on the hub and on the back of the card yet packets are not recieved...

Some pertinant info is at the end... if there is something I left
out please email me.
