I always seem to get blocked in (re)building -current at:

ll ===> libntp
building shared ntp library (version 0.0)
ld -x -shared -soname libntp.so.0 -o /usr/src/domestic/lib/libntp/../../../lib/libntp/libntp.so.0.0  /proto/usr/lib/crtbeginS.o  --whole-archive libntp_pic.a --no-whole-archive   /proto/usr/lib/crtendS.o
ld: cannot open libntp_pic.a: No such file or directory
*** Error code 1

And this is with a system that's partially updated to run -current,
etc... Anyone know the easy answer on this, or should I just dig
into it myself?
