I think it'd be ... rather annoying for me, personally, but it sounds
like i'm in the minority.

Don't forget that the VGA bios on some cards (I can go into more
details in private mail) don't necessarily do what you would expect,
initializing the colors.  In particular, i've seen cases of "red is
blue, blue is red."
