I guess that the reason I think it's important is that people measure
the maturity and usability of an OS platform based upon the amount
of cross platform differences for applications.

One of the few times I'll badmouth linux is when I look at the
interarchitecture differences brought about by having massively
different header files between platforms. That's just the wrong
thing to do.

I'd like to see that NetBSD does a cleaner job (which it already does)-
but I was wondering about the current toolchain foo.

I'll revisit this in a couple of weeks.
