I use a separate subnet on lo0:

    ifconfig lo0 <address> alias netmask 255.255.255.255
    <repeat close to 200 times>

Things are currently getting interesting between me and gated due
to this. If you're running more than about 150 aliases on your
system, you may want to drop me a note.
