...I have an update from Matt Thomas that may fix this problem.  Can
you test for me?

This chip revision was the whole reason for the de driver update in
the first place... it's nearly impossible to get pre-pass 2.0
Tulips anymore (at least in the Bay Area), and the old driver simply
didn't support them.
