Re: Pelica+ vs. Mustang:  it would be interesting to see a comparison
of these (perhaps against a similar generation box such as a sandpiper)
using lmbench, which is available at:

It's really good at pointing out differences in cache and memory
latencies.

For even more fun we can compare BSD to OSF (a.k.a Digital UNIX).

I've run this before and it works fine on DU on the Alpha (i.e. no 64
bit issues).  I had it running within a half hour of the file transfer.
