greetings,...

i'm a new subscriber, and have recently inherited a dec 2000/150
machine.
currently there is no os installed.  we tried to install redhat linux,
but could never get the system to mount a device (nfs or cd rom),.. 
therefore, could never truly install.  i was told about netbsd as a
good os for this machine (someone called it a jensen?).  now the
question
is,.. where do i start?.. ok, a bit broad for this forum,.. but i've
d/l'd the files from ftp.netbsd.org/pub/netbsd/arch/alpha ... but am at
a 
loss as to how to begin this process... sorry if this is a bit too basic
for this list... but i am new to the alpha world,.. and from what i am
told,.
my "jensen", isn't exactly standard...

any help is appreciated...
