I am pondering the purchase of one of these from NekoTech, Inc.
and asked about the possibility of upgrading cache and was told it is
not possible.

However their web page with the "linx 166"
http://www.alphapower.com/lynxcub.htm

has a link to find out more about the Linx which was on Dec's page
http://www.digital.com:80/.i/info/multia/

which has info about multia models and
http://www.digital.com:80/.i/info/multia/alph_md.htm

indicates that models VX42A-F2,VX42B-F*,VX42B-G*
are 233MHZ and have 256kb cache which is upgradable.

It may be that the Linx 166 which is being sold for $800 does not
have the ability to have it's cache upgraded.

The e-mail from Nanoteck also indicated that the alpha was soldered in
so it was not upgradable either.

Others may have better data points.
