I think you're supposed to already have gzip, it's easy to build but
you can also get a precompiled binary from:
	ftp.pvv.unit.no:/store/store/ernie/gzip/ver-1.2.4/bin/gzip@alpha

(There is only one binary, which can be linked to gzip, gunzip, zcat etc).
