(1) the complete NetBSD/Alpha sources and binaries are now available
    from:
	ftp.netbsd.org:pub/NetBSD/arch/alpha
They should show up on mirrors within the next few days, if you're
    lucky. 8-)

(2) to allow people to get them more easily through gateways, etc.
i've split up the various files. it should be pretty obvious
what i've done; look in the directory 'split'.

(3) the 'gennetbsd.300.3.gz' gzipped kernel apparently boots
successfully to multi-user on DEC 3000/300 family systems, if you
put it on a NetBSD disk image, and edit various configuration
files to make them right for your system... (It contains support
for the 3000/[4-9]00 machines, as well, and, indeed, should
recognize the various CPU types better.)

(4) i'm not sure if the current kernels will work for long on [6-9]00.
They use 53CF94 SCSI chips (rather than the 53C94 chips in the
rest of the machines), which are apparently _slightly_
different... If anybody's tried it and can say definitively, i'd
appreciate knowing whether or not those machines work. (The SCSI
driver... "needs help" as it is; it's on the queue, but not a very
high priority for me for the next couple of weeks.)
