OK, I've added this now.

More or less :)  I'm not a core chicken committer, but I'm quite active
in the community.

Apparently it's a known problem, the README mentions that parallel
builds are not supported.  It's not a priority for the project.
If this is very important to you, of course you're free to submit a
patch.
