Well, thanks for the hint, but since audacious here is in pkgsrc-WIP
(work-in-progress), AFAICT it is up to the maintainer (moi) to decide whether 
to use a development version or not, or both. 
Assuming it will be released in the course of a week, as I read somewhere on the
homepage, I decided to use my free time now. 

So far I haven't seen any obvious problems that didn't already occur in the 
stable
version.
