Hi all,
please rewiew these two packages.
PolicyKit is a framework for defining policy for system-wide components and
for desktop pieces to configure it. It is used by HAL.
HAL is simply just a piece of user-space software that maintains a list
of device with well-defined properties for each device. In addition, HAL
provides space for application defined properties per device.
HAL is *not* concerned with how to use the hardware, nor is HAL concerned
with configuring the hardware. However, HAL can be used in applications that
needs the hardware by providing the list of devices and space for storing
configuration values.
These packages works on Linux, but it could works on another systems (Solaris
and FreeBSD) may be on others.
And please see the hal/volume_id.mk. This do main file on linux systems, where
pkgsrc package could use some hard-system libraries via pkg-config. I'm sure
that this is not too clear. I was thinking about new BUILDLINK_TARGET which
create symlink to ${BUILDLINK_DIR}.
So what do you think about it ? I have at this moment only two pkg-config *.pc
files in hard-system directory (/usr/lib/pkgconfig) volume_id.pc (which is from
udev, and alsa.pc) and i really wont to use these packages. If packages test
libraries directly, all is right, cause there are in /usr/lib directory. But
if they do it via pkg-config, pkgsrc subsystem creates ${BUILDLINK_DIR}.
