I was confused here, because xsltproc isn't actually a threaded
application, is it?  There was no mention of pthreads anywhere before
...

But obviously it has to get the functions from somewhere, so you're right. ;)

So would you be adverse to fixing the patch I sent and committing it?
I think the rest of it is ok ...
