Yes, please :-) I don't think having a "minimal" option is a bad idea,
if we find a reasonable number of packages were it can be applied.
mplayer is a bit extreme and I remember in the past that one of the
codecs could introduce a Qt dependency. The other mentioned cases are
often related simple maintainance issues -- splitting a package into
many subparts costs time and often doesn't justify those.
