I don't.  I just "make update" in a pkgsrc-current tree against installed 
vulnerable packages, on a netbsd/sparc64 production server.  runs quite fine 
fow now, and I don't even need to keep track & change my update script for new 
pkgsrc releases.

I only use stable for (linux) bulks.
it compiles much better in fact, on linux for the least
