The code in mk/ was always a hack to help packages that do not honor
CFLAGS and/or LDFLAGS.

If archivers/unlzx now has a problem, it can be fixed by

- either copying the mk/ code there directly, or

- properly fixing the package to honor CFLAGS and LDFLAGS.
