Thanks for making this change; the situation is... suboptimal.

There may be people who downloaded before your change - the package is now broken for them (not irretrievable, but involving manual intervention)

Have you contacted upstream to see if they're aware of the problems they've caused, or the damage to their credibility? (the commit log didn't give any indication)

We need to consider some equivalent of the DIST_SUBDIR workaround for packages like this.

Upstream has commited directly to the master branch without bumping
the version, which resulted in a broken checksum.

Fixed now.

cvs rdiff -u -r1.6 -r1.7 pkgsrc/security/pleaser/distinfo
