Possible side-note, I think that NO_CONFIGURE=yes can be just
removed: most of the times it is not needed (packages with configure
needs HAS_CONFIGURE or GNU_CONFIGURE) and only leads to possible
surprises like this case.

(Anyway, also avoiding configure stages like that will avoid that
too!)
