Please revert to previous (i.e.  before you changed it to accommodate
dash), and discuss any change that you'd like to make before making
it, then.  I'm sure there's a way we can accommodate all platforms,
and the bootstrap should work with the most minimal subset.

This needs to be done before the freeze for 2013Q1.
