Neither builds for me :(

The old one gives the "an AFS sysname is required" message and fails
configure; the new one chokes in post-install as follows:

pkg_add: Package `openafs-1.7.11' conflicts with `heimdal-[0-9]*', and 
`heimdal-1.5.2nb2' is installed.
pkg_add: Installed package `heimdal-1.5.2nb2' conflicts with `openafs-[0-9]*' 
when trying to install `openafs-1.7.11'.
pkg_add: 1 package addition failed

This is at least in part because I build base without kerberos so
things end up using pkgsrc kerberos instead; but still, it ought to
work in that situation...
