Alright, then maybe the best approach is to add "gresource" to
options.mk and have it disabled on SunOS by default. If it's
selected, then the libelf conditions in the Makefile come into play.
That way someone building packages from source can decide for
themselves if gresource or large files is more important.

I went for the alternative approach of building gresource but ensuring
it alone does not use largefile on 32-bit Solaris, so that the only
disadvantage for 32-bit Solaris users is that their gresource does not
support>4G files, but everything else does.

This diff seems to work, at least I am able to run 'gresource help':

   http://www.netbsd.org/~jperkin/glib2-libelf.diff

Can you confirm it's ok for you?

Thanks,

Hi Jonathan,
I was able to build and install glib2-2.32.3nb2 with this patch.
gresource doesn't crash on me either.
(Too bad that now a PKGREVISION bump is required, that adds like a day to a new bulkbuild run!)
