How old then? The API_DEPENDS is currently glib2>=2.4.0, and that's a
long, long way back.

That's a separate issue. We'll probably have to patch a good number of
them ourselves eventually anyway; also, if we patch out the checks in
glib2, even as a temporary measure, are we sure that something isn't
going to break?
