I agree, (I only did the update because it is needed to be update for cups 
PR#43585).

Apple are a complete pain as the don't supply a standard changelog in the
tarball (unless you count rcs $Log$ keyword in the sources) and you can't 
even look at the bug database unless your an registered apple developer!
