Avoid usage of modern kinds of parameter expansion (##, #, %%, %)
because /bin/sh on Solaris doesn't understand this syntax and bmake
uses this ancient shell.
bmake should really be built with /bin/ksh or /usr/xpg4/bin/sh as the
default shell.
