Nobody has got around to fixing it yet although it has been discussed 
several times over several years.

I think that a new package called "flashplayer" should be made (since that 
appears to be correct name). And that it creates symlinks for the 
different browsers. I used symlinks several times in the past for various 
plugins and that seems to work for me.
