    - streamlined the DESTROY method to avoid method
      calls as this can sometimes cause issues during
      global destruction with subclasses.

        - added documentation to explain when to call
          the DESTROY method to properly clean up any
          circular references
        - added test (14_Tree_Simple_leak_test.t) to
