This gives me warnings when the bulk build (NetBSD 2.0/i386) is building
the dependency tree:
   cd: can't cd to ../../emulators/_compat
   make: "../../mk/../../mk/reduce-depends.mk" line 63: warning: "cd ../../emulators/_compat && /bin/pwd" returned non-zero status
(or when you "make show-depends-dirs" in emulators/suse_libc5).

Please fix this.
