I don't know what nbmake change is responsible, I do make an
assumption (which may not be correct) that the package used
to build with nbmake.  Attempting to build with nbmake now
results in it barfing in the expansion of ZLIB_OBJS = -lz and
BZLIB_OBJS = -lbz2.

I have to admit I didn't explore why agressively because
gmake was happy to deal with it.  However, an alternative is
to alter patch-aa to make the makefile work w/ nbmake.
