Well, you can interpret "pth" as abbreviation of "pthreads" too,
so it covers both variants...
The threaded versions of Python 2.1 and 2.2 are suffixed "pth"
too, and it is used internally a lot (eg in the
PYTHON_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED constraints).
Imo, changing all this is too much work just for having a nicer name...
