I couldn't reproduce this on my machine.  Have you set any of the following
variables in your /etc/mk.conf?

	PKG_SYSCONFDIR.samba
	PKG_SYSCONFDIR
	PKG_SYSCONFBASE
	SAMBA_ETCDIR
