This is strange.  The checksum is ok, and I guess your distinfo
file is the same as mine yet your extraction fails.  Can you try
manually running the extraction?  Perhaps we have a pax/tar bug?

SHA1 (fastcap-2.0-18Sep92.tgz) = 7ad255cfe33c60428e934b87298951829331e4d5
Size (fastcap-2.0-18Sep92.tgz) = 1392318 bytes

This extracts fine with a 1.6 branch alpha.
