Congrats to 11.0! Sorry to spam this to a few mailinglists. netbsd-user 
and pkgsrc-user, but found this,
and not sure if this will be applied to the mailinglist as a reply or if 
it will be a standalone mail.
But this will get you further building mail/thunderbird
If the environment variable CC is set, then use that, otherwise find the 
path to the binary cc and use that instead.
Ran into some problem with the c++  wrapper later, but i think it might 
be related to me not building
much/at all with pkgsrc.
