 We shouldn't keep packages back because of unmaintained local patches.
 I think the solution to re-import the package is reasonable.
 
 The only thing I would suggest is to patch emulators/qemu to display
 a helpful error message if the user attempts to use "-accel nvmm".
 Then the PR can be closed or reassigned to nvmm people.
