 From what it looks like, the meta package for xfce4 required both python37 and python27. So stepping on each others toes without cleaning up over each other is probably the problem.
 
 Sadly, I wasn't piping the output into a log, and I'm building several hundred packages, so the backlog is gone by now. 
 
 I do have another flash drive though, so once I'm done, I will rebuild it all on that drive and see if I can duplicate the problem and dump the log on you.
