>Description:

checking for X... no
configure: error: Sorry, could not find X include and library files required for Metafont.

>How-To-Repeat:

Build luatex with X11_TYPE=modular and with only the X packages
installed that other things have pulled in.

Also,
PKG_DEFAULT_OPTIONS=-gssapi -hal -dbus -arts -esound -nas -pulseaudio -x11 -xcb

This shouldn't depend on it being -5, that's just where I stepped on
it. This machine will get updated soon, but in the meantime I don't
have another one configured this way.

From config.log:

conftest.c:45:22: error: X11/Xlib.h: No such file or directory

(this is in *web2c*'s config.log; why is luatex building web2c? I
suppose I don't want to know)

>Fix:
Just add libX11. But ideally it shouldn't need it...

This is a fairly recent regression, btw.
