 Yes, Arch Linux is rolling release, so pkgsrc packages also must be rebuilt 
accordingly.
 It is expected that pkgsrc is used to install additional packages in addition 
to stable
 base system.
 Or, use anything from pkgsrc with PREFER_PKGSRC=yes and USE_PKGSRC_GCC=yes :)
