 I can confirm that the problem doesn't occur with 6.1_STABLE; gethostbyname_r 
 is not detected and the test program just works. I can commit the patch as a 
 quick fix, but I'd prefer to get to the bottom of why gethostbyname_r is 
 detected on -CURRENT; as it happens, I'm upgrading a laptop as we speak, so I 
 can look into it during that process.
