  Currently no-where.

If you want to use pkgsrc supplied findutils make both of those variables
  empty.

  i.e:
  TOOLS_PLATFORM.xargs?= #empty
  TOOLS_PLATFORM.find?= #empty

Is this a rule or an exception only for findutils?

I have installed pkgsrc grep and modified my 'TOOLS_PLATFORM?=' path to '#empty' and had problems in lintpkgsrc and pkg_chk come up (see the recent discussion in pkgsrc-users%netbsd.org@localhost concerning gstreamer)...

I had to go back to specifying the path to get things sorted out again.
