 Good point. Not that i know of any technical aspect that prevents us doing so. 
 It's just that adding this patch was a matter of 15 minutes versus adapting 
 and sorting out all the patches that won't work with 3.12.1, and there's a 
 couple of them, i tried that.
 I'm not sure how much effort it takes to make 3.12.1 work, so i would propose 
 patching 3.12.0 as a short term solution to minimize package "downtime".
 
 Also i'm not really savvy on the ocaml side, i'm only an end user of the 
 net/unison package. Which makes it hard for me to tell the hazard potential of 
 updating to 3.12.1.
