 Yes, LOCALBASE indeed ended with a /. The problem disappeared, after I =
 changed LOCALBASE from /opt/local/ to /opt/local.
 
 I was not aware that I may not bootstrap with --prefix=3D/opt/local/ but =
 had to use --prefix=3D/opt/local instead. Is it possible to add a hint =
 to bootstrap/README?
