 Hmm, since I'm not familiar about meta-pkgs/xfce4 and xfce4-extra,
 but I feel meta-pkgs/xfce4 is for convenience of users, not based on xfce4 
release.

 For example, in your patch, x11/libxfce4gui set XFCE4_VERSION=4.6.4,
